Google Adsense is used on every page of IndyaBytes to display ads. Posts made by users will display targeted ads on their posted stories. Users are paid by Google when someone clicks on these ads.

3. How does this Revenue Sharing work?

When a user posts a story on Indyabytes, there is a 50% chance that ads from his/her Google Adsense account are displayed on that story. If the ads are clicked as a result of genuine reader interest, the user will make money and see it on their Adsense earnings. Inorder to comply with Google's guidelines and as a preventive measure, a user logged in on IndyaBytes will never see his/her ads. This is to make sure that users do not accidentally click on their own ads, as that would result in Google banning their adsense accounts.

Yes, you can use your existing Adsense account. If you do not have an Adsense account, you will have to get one. Go to Google Adsense, to get your own Adsense account. Please make sure you do not use "IndyaBytes.com" in the website url field, as this will definitely not get your account approved. As part of verifying new applicants, google will most definitely ask you to prove that you are the owner of the "Indyabytes.com" domain and obviously as you will be unable to prove that you own IndyaBytes.com, it is better to apply with either your own website or blog.

6. How do I add my Google Adsense Account information to my IndyaBytes account?

To add your Google Adsense Account information, go to your user profile page. You will find two adsense related fields when you go to "Modify Profile" page. Add your Google Adsense ID in the "Google Adsense Id" field. Your Google Adsense Id should be something like pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, make sure you put the complete adsense id including the starting letters 'pub'.

5. Why am I seeing irrelevant ads on my stories?

The most common reason for seeing irrelevant Google ads on stories is that the user has not provided enough content on his/her story for Google to crawl and make an educated guess on the type of content. If the story has just been posted there is a good chance that Google's bots have still not come visiting to the new stories. Another issue to look at would be grammatical errors and lack of good keywords. Please keep in mind that Google would display PSAs (Publis Service ads) if it believes your story has violated its guidelines and TOS.
